VICTORIA TOWER, SALISBURY DOCK, LIVERPOOL
Salisbury dock is part of the North docks and is well known by anybody who has worked on the docks. The six sided clock could also be seen from the river. The Tower was designed by Jesse Hartley and built in 1848, it housed the hydraulics for the locks and a bell in the top of the tower signalled high tide. The clock was by Picton.
This original watercolour is on display in the Belvedree Arms, Sugnall Street and is for sale.
The painting is in an oak frame and set in a mount.
